In using the AI website ChatGPT I learned many things about engineering resumes. The first thing I learned about prompting was that I had to be very specific about what I wanted. My first attempt at prompting resulted in a messy small resume, which I could not use in a professional setting. When I tried again, I used more specific and concise language. In my prompt specifically tailored for jobs in an academic setting, I highlighted my education portion. I included my academic credit history and had it highlight classes specifically useful for those kinds of jobs. One difference that I noticed is that the AI generated resumes really expanded the skill portion of my resume. The main difference that I noticed is that my original resume that I use is a little bit more complex, while the AI generated one is straight to the point.
